Why You Should Find Culebra Lodging
To HaveThe Best Beach Vacations

Finding Culebra lodging is very important when we are taking about the amount of fun and enjoyment you will have at your Culebra adventure.

Culebra is such a beautiful island with outstanding beaches, awesome water-views, and sunsets that it is worth staying several days to explore it a little longer.

If you're coming to our little island you should definitely consider finding an accommodation in Culebra and staying at least one night (although during the high season many places require a minimum of two-night stay).

You don't have to spend that much money if you can't or don't want to. A Culebra lodging can take many different forms.

For example, build your own Culebra lodging: go camping!. Do it if you're on a budget. Or do it because you want to be in closer contact with nature. Or just do it because you love camping!

Another option is to stay at a nice, cozy Guesthouse. It is comfortable, yet less expensive.

Also, you can enjoy the convenience of staying at a Culebra Villa.

“Should I do a one-day trip to Culebra?“

Were you thinking about coming to Culebra in the morning and then going back to Puerto Rico the same day, during the afternoon? You can certainly do that. If you want to do this it is surely because you want to visit our famous Flamenco Beach.

Flamenco Beach at Culebra

But before you make your decision let's take a look at what will happen during your day.

Let's assume that you are taking the passenger ferry from Fajardo, Puerto Rico. If you are taking a flight this analysis will be a little different but at the end it will still apply to you. So, let's get started.

You arrive to Fajardo and you take the first passenger ferry to Culebra, which leaves at 9:00 a.m. The trip takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, so you'll be arriving to Culebra around 10:15-10:30 a.m.

Culebra's Passenger Ferry

Taking into consideration the time it takes you to disembark the ferry, picking up a taxi or bus driver, etc., you will be arriving to Flamenco Beach from 10:45-11:00 a.m.

At that time you will be getting hungry, so you'll probably stop at the Flameco kiosks to eat something - if you hadn't already eaten something in town - where the ferry arrives, before taking the taxi.

So you'll be heading to the beach area around 12:00 noon. The last ferry leaves to Fajardo, PR at 5:00 p.m. So you'd better be at the dock at least at 4:00 p.m. if you haven't bought the tickets to go back. You should be there no later than 4:30 p.m., if you come during the low season.

Your total time spent at the beach was from 12:00-3:30 p.m., or 3 hours and 30 minutes, because at that time you have to get ready to go back to the port.

Are you starting to see why I recommend finding Culebra lodging?

The ferry leaves at 5:00 p.m., so you will arrive to Fajardo at 6:15 p.m. Let's suppose that you are heading to San Juan from Fajardo. It will take you an hour to get there, so you'll be arriving to your place around 7:30 p.m.

'Wow! What a day! It was great, it was beautiful, but I'm exhausted!’ I can hear you say.

There is nothing wrong in doing this; some people do it in fact. All I'm saying is that it is tiring and you cannot enjoy the beach and the many other things that Culebra has to offer as much.

I have to admit I did this twice before I moved to Culebra. But we only did it because we were not well oriented. But this won't happen to you!

Find Culebra accommodations for at least one night and you will do and enjoy so much more. Stay 2 or more nights and you will do even better.

For example, visit the other spectacular beaches on Culebra. Snorkel on them. Watch a beatiful sunset. Enjoy the slow-paced lifestyle!

We never did these things before we moved here, and we were missing so much...

As I said earlier, finding Culebra lodging is not difficult and there is something for every budget and taste.

Always remember, whatever you choose to do, I know you will have the best Culebra beach vacations!
